Singapore – June 15, 2010 – ServersCheck, manufacturer of server room monitoring products has today announced a strategic OEM partnership with Duons Australia that will see the Brisbane-based company market the products under its name.
Purpose-designed for remote applications, the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) range of monitoring products is expected to sell well in the Australian and Pacific Islands markets where the unfriendliness of the geography means trips out to base stations can cost thousands of dollars just to perform a simple system reboot.
ServersCheck CEO, Maarten Van Laere said that the move marks a significant expansion of ServersCheck into the Pacific region. “We are delighted to have found a solid, reliable Australian partner who can offer not only sales and installation of our products, but value-adding services like maintenance and repair for end-users’ radio equipment, all within one company.”
Duons Australia General Manager, Adriaan Jooste, said, “We’re very excited to be involved in this new market expansion. What it does
The BTS Monitoring Solution enables monitoring of infrastructure to safeguard revenue stream and capex. It will monitor IP-based systems, environmental conditions, power, physical security through cameras, fuel levels and more…
For mobile telephony operators it also simulates end-user experience of the network by performing voice calls, sending & receiving SMS, making 3G data connections at regular intervals.
The solution is modular, meaning a custom monitoring solution is possible specific to the requirements of the customer while benefiting from the advantages of a generic platform. Mobile phone companies can use the solution to monitor their BTS shelters, Oil & Gas companies to monitor their pumping stations and communication rooms, Mining companies to monitor remote sites and so on…
The solution is not just about monitoring and knowing when issues arise. A unique capability is that it enables users to take remote action to rectify problems without having to go on site. Through its patented technology, ServersCheck enables Duons customers to remotely power-off and power-on systems using secure SMS messaging.
The unit is installed inside technical equipment rooms or the BTS shelter room and is capable of detecting faulty air-conditioners, power faults, high and low temperatures, flooding, excessive and low humidity. Low humidity can result in static electricity buildup with the risk of a discharge that can cause damage to equipment.
The unit can even be connected to a remotely controlled camera so that Operations and Maintenance activity can be remotely monitored in real-time if the asset owner chooses, or simply on an alert-trigger
basis. To save bandwidth, the unit records video locally, storing files for later retrieval by the central command centre.
Adriaan Jooste says, “it’s like having a technical specialist living in the base station. It permits remote management, cuts down on wasted trips and enhances the effectiveness of the trips that are made out to the base station because it collects data and reports on so many events. Because you can integrate a camera with the operation, it can also keep a watchful eye on the activities of any sub-contractor who enters the BTS environment. At last, remote asset operators will get the kind of control they’ve been wanting.”
